Valentine’s Heart Garland
Prognosis: Excellent. Quick, easy, and cute.
Materials:
-Cardboard. I used a left over Amazon box.
-Yarn in desired colors. I used left over yarn I had from other projects in pink, red, white, and light teal. 1 skein of yarn made about 4 hearts.
-A piece of paper to make your heart template.
Tools:
-Scissors
-Yarn needle
Directions:
- Make your heart template. I folded a piece of paper in half, drew 1 half of heart along the folded edge, and then cut it out to make a symmetrical heart. You can make this any size, shape you want. Your final heart will be significantly bigger than your template, so keep that in mind.
2. Trace hearts out on the cardboard using the template you just made. Cut the hearts out. Make as many as you want or need to make your garland the desired length.
3. Wrap the hearts in yarn, covering up the cardboard completely. Tuck the end of your yarn in using a yarn needle.
4. Once you have all your hearts wrapped in yarn. Use a yarn needed and yarn of your choice to string the hearts together. You want to string your hearts near the top and widest part of the heart so they hang well.
Treatment Plan: You may want to use 2 strings of yarn to strand your garland or another material to make it sturdier. My hearts weighed down my yarn over time and the garland began to droop.
